Birch River
Birch River is a Jack Nicklaus golf course community located in the north Georgia Mountains near the gold mining community of Dahlonega. Rochester has been involved in the project from its inception, providing the initial boundary surveys of the 1,200 acre site, assisting the client in annexing the property into the City, and obtaining the proper zoning. The land plan prepared by the landscape architects at RAI includes the 200 acre golf course, a commercial village, and 500 residences. The various uses are buffered by natural areas and connected by both a road system and a pedestrian trail system. The construction documents included the design of the water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer systems. Surveying services included boundary and topographical surveys, construction staking, preliminary and final plats of the parcels. The project required permitting by the City of Dahlonega, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Corps of Engineers.

Birch River is the development of Habersham Investment & Development Corp. A 20 year veteran in the land development business, the company focuses on projects that feature nature-friendly interior parks and exceptional amenities.
